Valtravieso Nogara Verdejo White Wine is a unique, high-altitude expression of the Verdejo grape in DO Rueda. Crafted by Bodegas Valtravieso from estate vineyards situated over 850 meters above sea level on stony soils, this 100% Verdejo single-varietal stands out for its meticulous winemaking and extensive fine lees aging in tanks. It yields a mineral-driven, highly aromatic, and textured white wine that elevates Rueda's terroir to new heights.
Narrative Tasting Note
In the glass, Valtravieso Nogara shines with a pale straw-yellow hue accented by bright greenish reflections that betray its high-altitude origin. The nose opens with a complex, mineral bouquet where herbal notes of fennel, chamomile, and thyme intertw seamlessly with white orchard fruits like juicy pear, vineyard peach, and lemon zest. On the palate, it enters with crisp, agile freshness yet reveals surprising structure; its mid-palate is rounded, creamy, and mouth-coating from lees contact, supported by vibrant acidity leading to a long, saline, and elegantly bitter finish typical of great Verdejo.
