Herbal Gin

Tasting Note

In the glass, a herbal gin appears brilliantly clean and transparent, occasionally catching the light with crisp, almost icy highlights that awaken the senses. Upon nosing, it transports you to a morning walk through an aromatic garden or a wild forest; a sudden burst of fresh mint leaves, savory basil, and damp earth intertwines elegantly with whispers of rosemary, wild thyme, green fennel, and a solid backbone of juniper that holds the entire bouquet together. On the palate, it offers a deeply balsamic and sumptuous experience; a silky, green, and intensely aromatic entry coats the mouth with well-defined botanical layers, where the spirit's natural warmth is perfectly harnessed by a crisp herbal freshness, leading into a bone-dry, lingering, and intensely balsamic finish that beautifully cleanses the palate.

Breaking Pairings

The distinctively savory, green character of herbal gins makes them an outstanding asset for high-end culinary pairings. We dare you to try these three unconventional combinations:

- Steamed Mussels with aromatic herbs and a touch of green curry: The ocean brine of the seafood and the spicy, exotic kick of the curry are brilliantly elevated and refreshed by the gin's herbal core.

- Beef Carpaccio dressed with truffle oil and shaved Parmigiano: The forest-like notes of the spirit seamlessly align with the earthy depth of the truffle and the rich, savory profile of the raw beef.

- Dark Chocolate Bonbons with rosemary and a pinch of sea salt (from Casa Amatller): A sublime pairing where the herbal rosemary perfume of the chocolate mirrors the gin’s botanicals, delivering a mature, sophisticated sweet ending.
