Bernat Oller Red is the ultimate estate wine, standing for elegance and character from the historic Heretat Oller del Mas winery. Crafted in a medieval castle with over a thousand years of heritage in Manresa, this organic red wine comes from a selected blend dominated by Merlot, harmonized with hints of Syrah and native recovered varieties like Picapoll Negre. The vineyards express the uniqueness of a continental climate with sharp temperature shifts. Its rigorous vinification is complemented by an artisan aging in 300-liter French oak barrels, followed by essential bottle resting to settle its great structure within DO Pla de Bages.
Tasting Note
In the glass, it shows an attractive cherry red color with a well-covered medium robe, enriched by elegant garnet nuances showcasing its beautiful evolution. Upon swirling, it displays a deep, clean, and highly complex aromatic profile, where fresh and ripe forest berries share the spotlight with refreshing balsamic hits and fine spices. Slowly, its oak passage reveals notes of chocolate, licorice, and a subtly smoky and mineral background. On the palate, it is true to the nose, precise, and sophisticated. The tannins are sweet, round, and perfectly polished, backed by a bright acidity that crafts a long, fresh, and distinguished journey toward a persistent finish.
