Oscar Tobía Reserva White Wine is an iconic flagship of cellar-worthy white wines from DOCa Rioja. Crafted by winemaker Oscar Tobía, this benchmark wine combines old-vine Viura with Chardonnay. Fermented and aged in new French and American oak barrels on fine lees for over 14 months with regular battonage, followed by extended bottle aging, it offers extraordinary richness, structural depth, and aging potential.
In the glass, it exhibits an intense golden-yellow hue highlighted by amber glints reflecting its patient oak maturation. On the nose, it unveils a profound, complex bouquet filled with ripe stone fruit, quince, candied orange peel, toasted brioche, browned butter, hazelnuts, and subtle vanilla and woodsmoke. On the palate, it is full-bodied and monumental: entering with remarkable richness, density, and a silky texture, seamlessly balanced by crisp, vibrant acidity that leads into an infinitely long, elegant, and mineral-driven finish.
Gastronomic synergy. The wine's rich texture and barrel-lees complexity embrace rich butter and earthy truffle notes flawlessly.
A white for rich meats. The wine's structure, vibrant acidity, and subtle oak smoke easily match the richness of tender sweetbreads.
High-intensity harmony. Nutty notes and tertiary depth in the wine pair masterfully with rich, aged cheese paste.
