The organic white wine Waltraud is a signature jewel crafted by Familia Torres in the highest-altitude vineyards of DO Penedès. This single-varietal Riesling was born as Miguel A. Torres' tribute to his German wife, Waltraud Maczassek, successfully adapting one of the world's noble grape varieties to Mediterranean terroir. Waltraud is a refined, exceptionally elegant white wine where citrus freshness and floral complexity meet vibrant mountain acidity.
Tasting Note
In the glass, it glows with a delicate pale straw-yellow color adorned by brilliant greenish and golden highlights. The nose reveals an intense, pure, and deeply captivating bouquet filled with Sicilian lemon, grapefruit peel, and orange blossom, intertwined with notes of ripe apricot, orange blossom honey, thyme, and a subtle petrol-mineral touch so signature of great Riesling. On the palate, it exhibits pure harmony and tension; a silky entry coats the mouth with electric mountain acidity that brings a crisp, refreshing edge, finishing with a long, bone-dry, citrusy, and memorable persistence.
