The white wine Fransola is one of the most elegant and unique jewels from Familia Torres, beautifully crafted within the DO Penedès appellation. This single-varietal estate wine comes from the historical Fransolà estate, a high-altitude vineyard nestled in the coolest areas of Alt Penedès, where chilly nights allow a slow and deeply aromatic ripening process. Driven masterfully by the Sauvignon Blanc grape, it undergoes partial aging in American and French oak barrels, granting unique complexity and structure while preserving the vibrant, citrusy freshness from its clay soils.
In the glass, it shines with a crystal-clear pale yellow color with beautiful, subtle green and golden highlights on the rim. The nose unfolds an intense and deeply seductive aromatic symphony, where classic tropical fruit notes of mango and passion fruit intertwine with citrus hints of lemon zest, white flowers, and fresh-cut grass notes. As it breathes, the noble wood reveals itself in a velvety way, bringing delicate notes of vanilla, sweet spices, and toasted bread. On the palate, it is broad, full-bodied, and carries an enchanting oiliness that wraps completely around the mouth. The mouthfeel is rich, deep, and perfectly balanced by a firm, crisp acidity that lengthens the wine beautifully. Its finish is elegant, clean, and highly persistent, leaving long-lasting memories of ripe fruit over a distinguished smoky background.
A bite of contemporary Asian haute cuisine. The sharp acidity and nerve of Fransola impeccably cut through the richness of the tempura, while the volume achieved from its barrel aging beautifully embraces the crab's crispy yet delicate texture, lifting the citrus kaffir aromas.
The structure and oily weight achieved from oak aging flawlessly support the rich creaminess of the risotto, creating a delightful aromatic contrast between the wine’s smoky traits and the mushrooms' earthy essence.
The noble fat of premium tuna demands a white wine with volume and nerve. Light hints of toasted oak accompany the sesame seeds sublimely, and the ginger freshness beautifully highlights the crispest notes of this high-altitude vineyard.
