Santiago Roma Albariño Selección White Wine represents the flagship expression of artisan viticulture in DO Rías Baixas (Val do Salnés). Sourced exclusively from low-yielding old Albariño vines planted on decomposed granite soils, this cuvée undergoes extended fine-lees aging in tanks. The result is a white wine of impressive weight, silky mouthfeel, and cellular aging capacity that preserves the electric salinity of the Atlantic Ocean.
In the glass, it glows with a deep straw-yellow hue accented by golden highlights revealing lees contact and extract richness. The nose opens with alluring depth, showing notes of ripe yellow peach, loquat, fresh bakery, and brioche alongside subtle bay leaf and dried white flowers on a distinct ocean-breeze mineral backdrop. On the palate, it feels opulent, fleshy, and broad; a silky texture coats the palate while crisp, vibrant Atlantic acidity provides perfect drive and balance, leading into a long, memorable, and saline finish.
Haute-cuisine sea match. Lees aging texture seamlessly envelops the sweet lobster meat while bright acidity cuts through perfectly.
Richness meets structure. A daring pairing where the fleshy weight of this aged Albariño matches rich meats and earthy truffle accents.
Saline and lactic balance. The inherent salinity of the island cheese mirrors the ocean notes of the wine, cutting through fruit sweetness.
