Acusp Red is one of the most cult, aristocratic, and unique high-altitude red wines in Spain, crafted by winemaker Raül Bobet at Castell d'Encus (DO Costers del Segre). Grown in extreme mountain vineyards over 1,000 meters above sea level and partially fermented in 12th-century stone vats carved directly into the bedrock, this single-varietal Pinot Noir delivers an unmatchable alpine freshness, delicate fruit profile, and mineral elegance.
In the glass, Acusp displays a translucent ruby-red color with very light density and bright clarity. The nose opens with an ethereal and intricate bouquet filled with wild strawberries, red sour cherries, and blueberries, gracefully layered with forest floor notes, graphite minerality, pink peppercorns, wild violet blossoms, and subtle herbal nuances. On the palate, it enters silky, vertical, and remarkably fresh; its light-to-medium body flows with pure elegance, guided by feather-soft tannins and crisp mountain acidity. The finish is extremely long, persistent, and mineral, leaving lingering memories of wild red berries and wet stone.
High-altitude match. Pinot Noir's soft tannins and crisp acidity respect delicate tuna textures without adding harsh bitterness.
Savory meat pairing. Vertical mountain acidity slices through rich pork fat while wild berry notes elevate sweet fig preserves.
Gourmand contrast. Vibrant berry fruit and crisp acidity wrap around rich cheese textures with total elegance.
