Maragda is a seductive red wine crafted by Coca i Fitó in DO Montsant. Sourced from old vines (30 to 80 years old) planted on slate, clay, and limestone soils, it combines Red Grenache, Samsó (Carignan) and Syrah. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, it offers a harmonious profile rich in ripe dark berries, wild herbs, and refined oak spices.

Narrative Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a deep and brilliant cherry-red color with vibrant purple rims. The nose opens with an expressive array of ripe red and black fruits—blackberries, red plums, and dark cherries—wrapped in wild Mediterranean garrigue herbs such as thyme and rosemary. As it breathes, oak aging reveals elegant notes of dark chocolate, pink peppercorn, sweet vanilla, and a subtle mineral smokiness. On the palate, it is mouth-filling, fleshy, and well-structured, supported by silky tannins and a lively natural acidity that brings great freshness and flow. The finish is long, smooth, and pleasantly spicy.

Groundbreaking & Mediterranean Gastronomic Pairings

Seared Duck Breast with raspberry reduction and Sichuan pepper

Spiced harmony. Ripe fruit and Syrah pepper notes match savory duck richness and berry sauce tartness perfectly.

Wild Boar Stew with dark chocolate and porcini mushrooms

Terroir synergy. Carignan and Grenache power cuts through wild game, while integrated oak highlights mushroom and cocoa depth.

Aged Sheep’s Milk Cheese with dark fig preserves and walnuts

Smooth contrast. Wine freshness and rounded tannins balance rich cheese fat, leaving a long, balsamic finish.
