Deler Negre is the intimate and passionate red wine crafted by La Cova dels Vins, an artisanal boutique winery located in Cornudella de Montsant, in DO Montsant. Its name ("deler") evokes the eager desire to produce an authentic red wine capable of conveying the raw beauty of the Montsant mountains. A classic blend of Red Grenache and Samsó (Carignan) grown on slate and clay-limestone soils, it offers vibrant energy, rich fruitiness, and distinct mineral character.
Narrative Tasting Note
In the glass, it presents a deep dark cherry-red color with bright violet and garnet highlights. The nose opens with an inviting wild bouquet where ripe dark berries—blackberries, blueberries, and plum preserves—intertwine with Mediterranean scrubland herbs like thyme and rosemary, crushed black pepper, graphite minerals, and subtle balsamic hints. On the palate, it is broad, fleshy, and velvety; entering smoothly before revealing a flavorful body supported by polished tannins and vibrant natural acidity. The finish is long, persistent, and deeply expressive of its terroir.
