The white wine Avgvstvs Xarel·lo & Malvasia de Sitges by Avgvstvs Forvm winery is one of the most distinctive and captivating creations from coastal DO Penedès. This blend pairs the structure, purity, and mineral character of Xarel·lo with the aromatic exuberance, vibrant acidity, and saline edge of Malvasia de Sitges, a recovered indigenous grape. A deeply Mediterranean white wine, fresh, fragrant, and expressive, echoing the close proximity of the vineyards to the sea.
Tasting Note
In the glass, it shines with a bright straw yellow color highlighted by subtle greenish and golden tones reflecting youth. On the nose, it unveils an expressive, perfumed bouquet where orange blossom, jasmine, and mandarin peel from Malvasia merge seamlessly with green apple, white melon, and Mediterranean herbal aniseed notes from Xarel·lo. The palate opens smooth, agile, and energetic, evolving into a lightly silky texture balanced by crisp, citrusy acidity. The finish is aromatic, long, and refreshing, leaving a distinct saline and mineral trace reminiscent of coastal sea breezes.
