Cava Duran Origin Brut Gran Reserva by Ramon Canals represents the pinnacle of gastronomy and patience in Penedès winemaking. Crafted from prime vineyards of classic varieties Xarel·lo, Macabeo, and Parellada, enriched with the volume and elegance of Chardonnay, this Gran Reserva undergoes an extended aging of over 30 months in the cellar darkness. The result is a complex, gastronomic flagship Cava with silky effervescence and a seamless balance between citrus freshness and rich aging notes.
It shines in the glass with an attractive bright golden-yellow color adorned with aged-gold glints and fine, steady bubbles creating a delicate bead and persistent mousse. The nose unfolds an aromatic bouquet of great complexity and sophistication, where ripe white orchard fruit like baked apple and roasted pear blend seamlessly with candied orange peel and stone fruit. As it opens, long Gran Reserva aging and Chardonnay influence step into the spotlight, bringing forward a symphony of toasted brioche, fresh butter, orange blossom honey, toasted hazelnut, and subtle balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is broad, creamy, and deeply structured. The entry is smooth and enveloping, featuring a silky mouthfeel where fine bubbles melt effortlessly. Vibrant natural acidity supports its rich body, leading into a long, profound finish marked by toasted bread and elegant mineral notes.
Structure and acidity harmony. Chardonnay smoothness and creamy Gran Reserva texture coat rich duck meat, while fine bubbles slice cleanly through fatness.
Seafood and pastry synergy. Toasted brioche aromas and complex notes in Duran Origin highlight rich seafood flavors and langoustine sweetness.
Creamy and earthy contrast. Bottle aging depth in the Cava connects with wild mushroom flavors and creamy béchamel richness seamlessly.
