The rosé wine Muga Rosé from Bodegas Muga is a benchmark of delicacy and fine dining within DOCa Rioja. Crafted primarily from Garnacha with a subtle splash of Viura grown in high-altitude vineyards of Rioja Alta, this rosé combines direct pressing of selected grapes with short aging on fine lees in wooden vats. Muga Rosé stands out for its alluring pale Provençal pink hue, vibrant acidity, and surprisingly creamy, structured mouthfeel.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it enchants with a brilliant, pale salmon-pink hue with rose petal and apricot highlights. The nose opens as a spring bouquet of delicate aromas: upfront notes of crisp red berries such as raspberries, forest strawberries, and sour cherries intertwine with stone fruits like white peach and nectarine. Subtle hints of orange blossom, mandarin zest, and a light bakery undertone from lees contact complete its complex aromatic profile. On the palate, it delivers pure freshness and elegance: an agile, lively entry leads into a smooth, coating mouthfeel with impressive body for a rosé wine. Seamless citrus acidity stretches the palate, ending in a savory, refreshing finish that irresistibly calls for another sip.

Groundbreaking Pairings

Homemade red prawn tempura tacos with chipotle mayo and fresh pomegranate seeds

A top-tier fusion connection. Sweet red prawn flavors and spicy chipotle find perfect balance in the tart fruitiness and creamy texture of Muga Rosé, refreshing the mouth instantly.

Homemade raw artichoke carpaccio with shaved Parmigiano cheese and summer truffle oil

Crisp, botanical harmony. The wine's lively acidity easily cuts through artichoke notes, while its lees-aged texture embraces rich Parmigiano umami flavors.

Homemade slow-cooked Iberian pork gyozas with red plum and ginger glaze

A savory Asian-inspired match. Juicy Iberian pork and sweet-tart plum sauce mirror the raspberry notes and citrus drive of this elegant Rioja rosé.
