Leirana White Wine is one of the purest, most authentic, and highly acclaimed expressions of the Albariño grape in DO Rías Baixas. Crafted by renowned winemaker Rodrigo Méndez at Forjas del Salnés (in the Val do Salnés subzone), this iconic Atlantic white is sourced from old vines located close to the ocean. A cult wine that eschews commercial tropical fruit profiles in favor of a raw, mineral-driven, razor-sharp, and saline character.

Tasting Note

It presents in the glass a bright, pale straw-yellow color with greenish reflections and brilliant clarity. The nose reveals an austere, refined, and piercingly fresh bouquet dominated by green apple, lime zest, elderflower, and coastal herbs, all anchored by a distinct chalky and saline minerality that echoes the Atlantic breeze. On the palate, it enters with electric precision and vertical drive; crisp citrus acidity structures the wine beautifully, leading into a long, vibrant, and mouth-watering saline finish that begs for another sip.

Groundbreaking Pairings

Fresh Galician Oysters with yuzu foam and kombu sea salt

Atlantic synergy. Leirana’s crisp salinity enhances the raw sea flavor of oysters, acting like a squirt of fresh lemon juice.

Tarte Flambée with crispy guanciale, goat cheese, and caramelized onions

High-acid contrast. The razor-sharp acidity of this classic Albariño cuts through rich cured pork fat and creamy goat cheese.

Wild Sea Bass Ceviche with passion fruit tigre de leche and cancha corn

Citrus power. The vertical backbone of the wine easily matches the intense acid profile of the ceviche marinade.
