Narrative Tasting Note
In the glass, Dow's Vintage displays an opaque, deep, and majestic ruby-red color with dark violet and garnet highlights. The nose reveals an overwhelming, highly complex aromatic symphony: concentrated dark berry notes—blackberries, cassis, fresh figs, and black plums—emerge alongside wild herbs, rockrose, violets, pure dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, tobacco leaf, and unmistakable schist minerality. On the palate, it delivers pure power, muscle, and volume; its entry is intensely fleshy and dense, supported by a formidable structure of firm, muscular tannins and crisp acidity that frames the wine with mastery. The mouthfeel is warm, majestic, and aristocratic, culminating in an infinitely long finish dominated by dark fruit, cocoa, and fine oak undertones.
