Dow's Fine Tawny Port is a mature, harmonious, and highly sophisticated expression of Port wines from the famous house of Dow's in DO Porto. Crafted from traditional Douro grape varieties (Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca) aged an average of three years in seasoned oak casks, this Tawny stands out for its delicate oxidative evolution, velvety texture, and Dow's hallmark drier, elegant finish.

Narrative Tasting Note

In the glass, Dow's Fine Tawny glows with a seductive mahogany-amber color highlighted by golden and brick-red hues. The nose unfolds a deep, comforting bouquet where toasted nut aromas—such as hazelnuts, walnuts, and almonds—intertwine seamlessly with dried figs, dried apricots, heather honey, candied orange peel, and subtle hints of noble oak and toffee. On the palate, it offers a silky, gentle entry with a captivating, velvety body; the mouthfeel is round and warm, balanced by a lively acidity that keeps the natural sweetness light and refreshing, leading to a clean, elegant finish with lingering raisin and oak notes.

Groundbreaking & Mediterranean Gastronomic Pairings

Wild Boar Tartare with toasted pine nuts and dried fig reduction

An haute-cuisine savory pairing. The depth and toasted nut notes of Tawny Port seamlessly embrace rich game meat flavors.

Aged Sheep Cheese or Soft-Ripened Cheese with hazelnut honey

A creamy sweet-and-salty pairing. Rich cheese intensity finds its match in the honeyed texture and raisin undertones of this Port.

Classic Apple Tatin with vanilla ice cream and crushed pistachios

A warm, comforting dessert match. Toffee and candied orange peel notes fuse naturally with baked apples and caramel.
