Marina Alta white wine stands as one of the ultimate liquid legends of the Mediterranean and the most famous emblem of the DO Alicante. Crafted by the BOCOPA estate, this monovarietal wine comes from a rigorous selection of Muscat of Alexandria grapes, cultivated in high-coastal vineyards that directly receive the sea breeze and the brilliant morning sun. Its uniqueness lies in a fascinating balance: it offers the full aromatic and seductive intensity of the Muscat grape, yet it is vinified as an entirely dry, crisp, and light white wine. An iconic bottle capturing the pure joy, light, and coastal freshness of Alicante in every glass.
In the glass, it reveals a brilliant pale yellow color with crystal-clear transparency and clean steely reflections that display its youth and lightness. The nose is a true aromatic explosion of high intensity, instantly filling the air with pure notes of fresh grapes, rose petals, orange blossom, and a delicious citrus range of mandarin and lemon. As it breathes, subtle traces of wild Mediterranean herbs and a delicate saline background emerge. On the palate, it surprises beautifully, as the aromatic sweetness found on the nose transforms into a completely dry, crisp, and agile texture. It stands out due to a vibrant, electric acidity that brings wonderful verticality, making this wine incredibly easy to enjoy. The finish is clean, intensely fruity, and persistent, leaving a floral and refreshing aftertaste that invites you back for another sip.
An impeccable coastal pairing. The briny iodized character of the mussels matches naturally with the floral notes of the Muscat of Alexandria, while the citrus acidity of Marina Alta cleanses the mouth and upgrades the citrus aromas of the dish.
The challenge of spicy heat in sushi finds its ultimate ally in this wine's aromatic complexity. The grape's fresh fruit and floral profile soothes the heat on the tongue, while the wine’s dry and crisp nature effortlessly lightens the mayo's texture.
A surprising and deeply summer-like play on contrasts. The salty, earthy touch of feta cheese and the juicy sweetness of watermelon combine flawlessly with the wine's fragrance, while mint and basil echo the clean herbal accents of the Muscat grape.
