Malvasia de Sitges Sweet White Wine by Celler Can Pagès is a living piece of Catalan winemaking heritage from DO Penedès. This indigenous grape variety is renowned for its high sugar levels balanced by bright natural acidity. It holds a unique literary legacy, famously praised by Joanot Martorell in the classic 15th-century chivalric novel Tirant lo Blanc. Crafted from overripe vineyard-selected grapes, this natural sweet wine is honeyed, rich, and timelessly elegant.
Narrative Tasting Note
In the glass, it shines with a bright deep gold hue with amber and honeyed reflections. The nose reveals an intensely complex aromatic bouquet: aromas of dried apricots, dried figs, orange blossom honey, and candied citrus peel emerge immediately, complemented by subtle jasmine floral undertones and toasted almonds. On the palate, it offers pure silkiness; its rich, natural sweetness is masterfully counterbalanced by Malvasia de Sitges' trademark crisp acidity, preventing any cloying feeling. The palate is unctuous and deep, leading to an extraordinarily long finish filled with candied orange and nut undertones.
