GR-65 Travessa del Montsant is a bottled journey through the wild mountain landscapes of DO Montsant, inspired by the iconic long-distance hiking trail crossing the region. Crafted from a classical blend of Red Grenache and Samsó (Carignan), it undergoes careful oak barrel aging to refine its tannins. An expressive, well-structured red wine where rich ripe fruit and stony mineral notes shine in harmony.
Narrative Tasting Note
In the glass, it displays an attractive ruby-red color of medium-plus depth with bright garnet highlights. The nose opens generously with an enticing array of ripe red and dark berries—black cherries, plums, and blackberries—layered with Mediterranean garrigue herbs like thyme and rosemary, alongside a warm stony mineral touch. As it opens up, subtle oak influence reveals hints of sweet spices, cocoa, and black pepper. On the palate, it is mouth-filling, fleshy, and smooth; Grenache's roundness marries seamlessly with Carignan's firm structure and vibrant freshness. The finish is long, rewarding, and pleasantly spicy.
