Germans Balart Àmfora Negre

Red wine from the D.O. Terra Alta, made primarily from the Garnacha Tinta (Grenache) variety, with a period of aging on lees in terracotta vessels (amphorae).

A clean, intense cherry-red color, with bright violet hues indicating youth and vibrancy. It shows a medium-high layer and noticeable legs.

The nose is frank, clean, and very fresh. It is dominated by fresh red and black fruit (raspberry, cherry, and blackberry). Clear notes of liquorice and subtle mineral touches are discernible, which grant it an expressive, terroir-driven character. A light balsamic nuance completes the profile, maintaining the purity of the fruit.

The entry on the palate is amiable, voluminous, and silky. The tannins are fine and polished, very well-integrated, making it highly drinkable. The acidity is excellent, providing freshness and liveliness. The mouthfeel is well-balanced. The finish is long and elegant, with a persistent flavour of fresh fruit and mineral character.

A red wine with a very modern and fresh profile. The amphora aging contributes volume and silkiness without the aromatic weight of oak, resulting in a highly versatile and enjoyable red wine.
