Germans Balart

Crianza Red Wine from the D.O. Terra Alta, primarily crafted from the traditional varieties Garnacha Tinta (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan).

A deep, high-intensity, dark cherry-red color with a ruby rim. It appears dense and shiny in the glass, indicating concentration and body.

The nose is complex, rich, and balsamic. There is a dominance of ripe black and red fruit (blackberry, cherry, and strawberry). The 12 months of aging in oak barrels are evident through notes of sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon), leather, tobacco, and a pleasant balsamic undertone (such as liquorice or eucalyptus). All aromas are very well-integrated.

The entry is smooth and round, leading to a voluminous mouthfeel. The tannins are very polished and silky due to the aging process. The acidity is excellent, providing freshness and balance to its inherent power. The finish is long, elegant, and intense, with a persistent retronasal flavour of fruit and spicy oak notes.

A full-bodied, characterful red wine that expertly combines the ripe, Mediterranean fruit with the complexity of its aging process, resulting in a round, powerful, and highly food-friendly wine.
